Filipino Adobo Chicken Wings
Directions
- Mix together the soy sauce, vinegar, mirin, sliced onion, garlic, black pepper, and bay leaves in a resealable plastic bag.
- Add the chicken wings and marinate in the fridge for 8 hours or overnight.
- Remove the chicken wings from the marinade and set aside.
- Select the Preheat function, adjust to 360°F, and press Start/Pause.
- Place the chicken wings in the preheated air fryer basket.
- Adjust the temperature to 360°F, set time to 22 minutes, and press Start/Pause. Flip the wings halfway through cooking.
- Pour the marinade into a saucepan and cook on medium heat until it reaches a simmer, about 5 minutes.
- Pour in the vegetable oil and water into the saucepan and mix well. and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove the wings when done cooking and pour off any of the rendered fat into the sauce. Mix well.
- Garnish the chicken wings with green onions.
- Serve steam rice and the sauce on the side. (It is customary to mix sauce with rice.)
